Who needs an architectural rendering?
Almost everyone who is planning a building project. Architectural renderings are increasingly being recognized as a valuable part of the planning and design process.
What are the benefits of having one?
The benefits will vary with each project. Ask yourself if a coloured computer rendering might assist you in any of the following areas:
Why should I get a computer rendering rather than a hand-drawn illustration?
Some people still prefer hand-drawn illustrations. The biggest benefits of computer generated illustrations are the technical accuracy of the drawings and the speed at which changes can be made. It is a simple matter to “try out” different finishes, lighting effects, landscaping, etc.
How much do renderings cost?
There is a large variance in the cost of renderings, depending on the type of project, it’s size and complexity and the number of hours needed to enter the required information. Email us your preliminary drawings and we will give you a written estimate (see contact numbers page).
When should I order a rendering?
As soon as your preliminary CAD drawings are complete. If you are not already working with an architect, we can do preliminaries for you.
What do you need from me?
We need to see your preliminary site plan, floor plan and elevations. Email us a PDF file or courier, mail or bring your printed CAD drawings to our Markham, Ontario office. We will send you a written quote and as soon as we have your approval we will begin work.
How long do they take?
Most renderings can be completed in a week. It takes a little longer if there are complicated roof-lines, lots of architectural detail or if revisions are requested. We can sometimes accommodate you in less than a week if it’s urgent.
What format do I get them in?
We can print the renderings in just about any size you need, from postcard to billboard. We can courier or mail the prints to you, mounted or unmounted, or we can send you high resolution JPEG files on a CD-ROM.
